IKEA is starting to offer air-to-water heat pumps in Germany-PV Magazine International

The Swedish furniture giant began to offer air-to-water heat pumps that were distributed by Svea Solar and manufactured by Aira in Sweden.

Swedish furniture provider Ikea announced that it started to offer New air-water heat pumps in Germany in collaboration with PV company Svea Solar in Sweden.

“Sustainable living must be accessible to the masses,” said Jacqueline Polak from Ikea Germany. “That’s why we make solutions for renewable energy such as heat pumps at IKEA.”

The heat pumps complement the existing residential portfolio of solutions for renewable energy, which include photovoltaic systems, electricity storage units and charging stations for electric vehicles.

The company said that interested consumers in Germany can benefit from the Exclusive 15% discount for IKEA Family and IKEA Business Network members, on top of the 70% discount offered by the German authorities. ‘Installation, maintenance and repair are included, as well as a product and performance guarantee of a maximum of 15 years, depending on the chosen model, “Ikea said in a statement.

According to the SVEA Solar website, the heat pump system is provided by the Swedish manufacturer Aira. It is available in a version with an indoor and outdoor unit and a compact variant with extra storage of hot water. In addition, the propane (R290) uses as the coolant and has the noise levels from 40 dB (A) to 48 dB (A).

Aira offers every model to consumers with a 15 -year “comfort” guarantee.
