Swift Current Energy has brought its 800 MWDC Double Black Diamond Solar Project Online in Illinois. The project is 30 miles west of Springfield and is the largest operational solar facility east of the Mississippi River.

This week Swift Current held a ribbon cutting ceremony on the project site, an event attended by Chicago Burgemeester Brandon Johnson and other government and business officers.
The city of Chicago is one of the largest cities in the United States that involve 100% of the power for its municipal activities of renewable energy.
