Laser Tools Co., headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, has updated the toolkits available to installers of ground-based solar projects.

The company’s SE-10 solar installation system is used to install solar posts and brackets that support solar panels. Installers use the system’s laser beam as a reference for straight pole alignment and consistent cut-off heights.

New accessories added to the SE-10 kit include a 4X32 optical scope and the GDT250 retroreflective target. The new products are intended to accelerate the alignment of a laser beam over a distance of 90 meters.

Laser Tools Co. told pv magazine USA The 4x optical scope helps align the laser beam to the target and includes scales and calibration adjustments that require no special tools. The GDT250 4” x 8” retro-reflective target contains microspheres that reflect the laser light back into the path of the incident light. This means contractors can use the scope to position the laser beam on the target and then use the reflected image on the spot target to verify the target and position lock.

The SE-10 systemwhich starts at $2,495.00, includes:

  • GLX350-10 – Brass alignment tool with green laser technology
  • AP351 – 1 inch diameter clamp set
  • AP1000 – Adapter plate for tripod leveling
  • AP353A – Magnetic dovetail mounting base plate 5″ long
  • AP46 Foam-Filled Hard Shell Carrying Case 24” x 10” x 12”

The company said the SE-20 operates in all weather conditions, at all installation angles and at distances greater than 150 meters.

The SE-20starting at $4,995, includes:

  • GLX70012V-PV Double, green beam, alignment laser
  • AP1000 Level adapter plate
  • AP353A Magnetic mounting base plate
