The VS -based heating specialist Lennox has unveiled a new heat pump for extreme cold temperatures.

Discerned SL22KLV, the new heat pump system would have an efficiency assessment of a maximum of 21 for seasonal energy -efficiency ratio 2 (seer2), 13.2 for energy -efficiency ratio 2 (EEA2) and 10.5 for heating seasonal performance 2 (HSPF2).

The new product uses R-454B as the coolant and has a size ranging from 2 tons to 5 tons. The number of tons does not refer to its weight, but to it Ton heat that a house needs.

The cooling capacity is assessed on between 22,000 BTUTS and 56,000 BTUT, while the heating capacity varies from 21,600 BTUH and 60,000 BTUT.

The heat pump has a size of 908 mm x 1,010 mm x 1.181 mm and is said to deliver heating at temperatures as low as -28.9 C.

“The compressor with variable speed, equipped with electronic coolant injection (ERI) technology, adjusts energy consumption dynamically based on outside temperatures, reducing energy costs,” the company said in a statement. “Moreover, the heat pump has a precision-from-balanced, direct-drive fan and sound-damping system for ultra-quiet operation and a peaceful home environment.”

The noise level of the system is assessed at 59 dB. It is designed with a composite unit base and at the top, removable louver panel and can be linked to a Lennox S40 Smart Thermostat.
