Arctech has signed an agreement with PowerChina’s East China Electric Power Design Institute for the ADQ solar project in the United Arab Emirates, with a capacity of 2,091 MW. The agreement was signed on June 3 during SNEC 2026 in Shanghai. Arctech also signed a memorandum of understanding with Anhui Zhonghong New Energy for a 1 GW energy storage project aimed at deploying an integrated solar-plus-storage system.
China Energy Engineering Corp. (Energy China) has released its 2026 centralized tender for PV inverters. The tender includes eight lots with a joint estimated purchasing volume of 20 GW. One plot includes central inverters with a capacity of 3,125 MW and more, while the remaining seven plots cover string inverters from 5 kW to more than 3,125 MW.
The Chinese Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNMIA) said polysilicon prices fell slightly this week. N-type resupply polysilicon traded at CNY34,000 ($5,019) to CNY35,000 per tonne (MT), averaging CNY34,700/MT, down 1.70% week on week. N-type granular silicon traded at CNY 33,000/MT to CNY 35,000/MT, averaging CNY 34,000/MT, down 0.87%. CNMIA attributed the decline to continued inventory pressure and shifting supply expectations. Despite a record low of 34.7%, stocks have risen for ten months in a row. The association said the planned restart of production in June and capacity expansions by several leading manufacturers have raised expectations of looser supply conditions.
The CNMIA the mentioned wafer prices also remained stable, with an average transaction price of CNY 0.93 per piece for n-type G10L wafers, CNY 1.00 for n-type G12R wafers and CNY 1.17 for n-type G12 wafers. Downstream prices for cells and modules were also unchanged, at CNY 0.31-0.33/W and CNY 0.71-0.75/W, respectively. The association added that industry utilization rates were higher, with leading wafer manufacturers operating at 48% and 50%, integrated producers at 52%-60% and other manufacturers at 52% to 70%.
