“The Prairie Ronde Solar Project is a powerful example of domestic energy investments in action,” said Emilie Wangerman, COO of Lightsource BP USA. “Working with our partners we build a more resilient schedule with products made in the US, we support disadvantaged communities, creating jobs, introducing home -grown energy solutions and reducing the dependence on our nation of foreign imports.”

The Prairie Ronde Solar Project offers solar equipment from American manufacturers: solar panels of Arizona-based first solar and solar trackers of Array technologies established in New Mexico. In addition, the Prairie Ronde Solar Farm will offer more than $ 20 million to St. Landry parish during the entire life of the project. This turnover, including $ 8.3 million in the first five years after the start of construction, will strengthen public resources such as local school systems and emergency services. An extra annual operational budget of $ 3.9 million will also be spent mainly in the region.

“The investment of Lightsource BP in St. Landry Parish represents a new day for our community and our schools,” said Jessie Bellard, president of St. Landry Parish. “Their financing increases job -confirming development projects, stronger infrastructure and better education for our children. With this support, St. Landry Parish is ready to become a regional leader in innovation and opportunities for everyone.”

In 2023, Lightsource BP founded the St. Landry Parish Community Fund as part of its dedication to support the communities that are home to its projects. The company works closely with locals to ensure that the fund tackles the most urgent needs of the community, with resources aimed at initiatives aimed at education and community development.
