Longi has developed the Hi-MO S10, a residential heterojunction (HJT) return contact solar module with 25% efficiency, which combines 27.6% efficient cells with a maximum of 510 W-output and 252.3 W/m² of power density.

The Chinese solar module manufacturer Longi has unveiled a new Bifacial N-Type HJT zone module based on Back-Contact Architecture on the Smarter-E Trade Show in Munich, Germany.

“This is the first time that heterojunction is successfully implemented in a commercialized module,” the manufacturer said in a statement. “The Hi-MO S10 delivers a world-leading cell efficiency of 27.6% and a module efficiency of up to 25.2%, which sets a new benchmark for performance in the photovoltaic industry.”

The Longi Hi-MO S10 panel has an output power ranging from 490 W to 510 W and a power per square meter ratio of 240.1 W/m² to 249.9 W/m²

The 54-cell Module is available in five versions with power conversion -efficiency ranging from 24.0% and 25.0% and a temperature coefficient of -0.24%/C.

It measures 1,800 mm × 1,134 mm x 30 mm, weighs 23.5 kg and trusts a black anodized aluminum alloy frame, as well as on semi-sheuet glass with thicknesses of 2.0 mm and 1.6 mm respectively.

The new product comes with a 30-year linear power output guarantee, with the The final capacity of 30 years is guaranteed no less than 88.85% of the nominal output power. The demolition of module is assessed at 1% in the first year, while the linear demolition is rated by 0.35% per year.

“Designed for sustainability, it has a load capacity of 6000/3600 PA,” the manufacturer added. “As a result, the module can be resistant to very high snow loads, equal to 4 m snow pressure, as well as heavy storms, equal to a hurricane of category 15. The Abrandweer class guarantees the highest safety standards.”

The modules were built with 182 mm N-type Tairay waffles, praised as a breakthrough in silicon technology. These waffles are said to improve the consistency of the resistance, minimize metal impurities and offer superior mechanical strength.

“The full-back contact with one line welding structure reduces the voltage of the cell edge, which improves the anti-squatting performance of the module. Moreover, the wafer is 10 μm Thicker than regular options, which offer improved reliability and lifetime, “Longi added.” The module also has bipolar passion technology on the back that reduces the hotspott temperature by 38.75% compared to conventional top concellos that significantly reduce the risk of thermal events that can lead to fires. “
