Meta Spurs 396-MW Solar Project Development from Cypress Creek

Facebook -mother company Meta has signed a milestone for Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreement (EAPA) that makes it possible Cypress Creek Renewables To build a 396 MWAC/505 MWDC Solar Facility in Texas, to support the purpose of the social media platform to match its activities with 100% clean and renewable energy.

The new solar facility, Hanson Solar, will be owned by and will be operated by Cypress Creek in Coleman County, Texas. Once operational, the electricity project will deliver to the ERCOT grid.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership with Meta and to offer them the clean energy needed to support their data center activities and sustainability goals,” said Sarah Slusser, CEO of Cypress Creek. “Hanson Solar represents a transforming milestone for our company, strengthening our growth, improving energy independence and managing millions of dollars of economic benefits for our host community.”

Hanson Solar is expected to yield more than $ 80 million in local tax revenues and create more than 300 jobs during construction.

“We are pleased to work with Cypress Creek -renewable energy sources to bring solar energy to Texas -and to support our activities in the region with clean and renewable energy,” said Urvi Parekh, head of global energy at Meta. “We look forward to making this project operational.”

The construction of Hanson Solar is planned to start later this year, with the activities that are expected to start in 2027.
