Enterprise Energy announced that the Minnesota Department of Commerce has granted the developer capacity for two community projects for the community of a total of 11 MWDC Located in Montevideo and Cottage Grove, Minnesota. These are in particular the first multi-megawatt projects that have been approved in the context of the accessible community Solar Garden Program of the state with low and moderate incomes (LMI).

The LMI accessible community Solar Garden Program, managed by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, aims to expand access to solar energy for households with low and moderate income. These projects are committed to at least 55% of the subscribers that are customers with a low or moderate income. This initiative reflects the dedication of Minnesota for fair energy solutions and environmental justice.

In collaboration with Native Sun Community Power Development, a native non-profit organization that focuses on promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency and fair energy transition through education and staff training, Enterprise Energy will support a new program for personnel development. This cooperation is intended to strengthen career seekers from disadvantaged communities by offering opportunities in the field of training and employment in the growing clean energy sector.

“We are honored to lead the way with the first multi-megawatt projects under the LMI Community Solar program from Minnesota,” said Eric Pasi, CEO of Enterprise Energy. “These projects not only contribute to a sustainable future, but also ensure that the benefits of solar energy are accessible to all Minnesotans, regardless of income. Our collaboration with the indigenous Sun underlines our dedication to community empowerment and development of workforce. “
