MREA now an accredited training provider for six solar roles

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) has been awarded Training Provider Accreditation six renewable energy programs of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). MREA is an accredited training provider for the following sustainable energy programs: PV Associate, PV Installation, PV Technical Sales, PV Design Specialist, PV Installer Specialist and PV Commissioning & Maintenance.

An IREC certificate is a nationally recognized mark of quality training in the clean energy industry. Students, employers, financiers and other stakeholders look for the IREC quality mark to find high-quality training that meets safety requirements and is tailored to the needs of the sector.

“Accreditation is vital to educational organizations such as the MREA as it recognizes compliance with national standards in training and operations, allowing our courses to be approved for professional qualification programmes, examination eligibility and continuing education credits. To the outside world it is a sign of approval regarding our competence and legitimacy,” said Jenny Heinzen, Curriculum Director of the MREA.

As one of the leading accreditation bodies for clean energy training in the United States, IREC’s high standards and rigorous application process require candidates to demonstrate a robust approach to quality in all key areas of the training programs.

With the clean energy economy growing rapidly, employers urgently need to find and hire well-qualified workers. IREC credentials help job seekers find quality training opportunities that prepare them for the clean energy job market, and help employers identify quality training options for their workforce.
