The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada unanimously approved a draft order that the Zonne -Zonne -Zonne -Zon will make Nevadans more expensive, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

“The concept order issued by the Nevada PUC wrongly puts a mandatory question to all residential customers in South Nevada and rewrite the rules for new solar customers in North Nevada,” said HL, Senior Manager of the Intermountain West for Seia. “The design order is also in contradiction with the intention of the legislative power when it restored the net measurement in Nevada. This is an important step backwards that makes solar energy less accessible to families in Nevada, and we urge the commissioners to change course.”

The PUC out The new “Daily Demand Charge” for customers of residential and small companies would lower the invoices for most NV Energy customers.

The demand costs would be included if a separate component in monthly accounts and would be based on the maximum amount that a Ratepayer uses the electrical system every day. De PUC says that it would create an opportunity for customers of residential and small companies to lower their bills by distributing their energy consumption and avoiding a simultaneous effect of numerous devices.

The proposed demand costs will take effect in April 2026.
