“Solar Panel Frame technology has been relatively unchanged for more than 45 years,” says SHUGAR, founder and CEO of Nexpracker. “During that time, the size and dynamic wind loads on solar panels have been dramatically increased, especially in following utility-scaly tracking applications. From a structural engineering perspective, the shift from aluminium to steel-forced-steel offers a greater strength of the important carbon intensity. Manufacture and delivering a real customer installation and delivering a real customer installation.

The frame designs of origami have been developed and refined for four years and are certified by third-party laboratory tests. Developed as a drop-in replacement for conventional aluminum frames, mirror the frames of origami standard industrial form factors. NEXTRacker is considering new approaches of panel mounting, such as robot mounting, which are possible with steel frames, state the company in a press release.

“Origami Solar was established to stimulate the commercialization of steel frame technology and to realize the customer value and benefits that this new technology can offer,” said Gregg Patterterson, CEO of Origami Solar. “Our team has solved important challenges about design, performance and high -volume production. By joining forces with NEXTracker, we have a great opportunity to scale this innovation faster with their global supply chain ecosystem and deep customer relationships and to commercialize a real impact.”
