Premier Energies, Sino-American silicon plan 2 GW Solar Wafer Plant in India

The most important energies of India and the Sino-American silicon products from Taiwan have signed a joint venture agreement that will see the development of a 2 GW solar wafers factory in India.

Indian Integrated Solar Cell and Module Manufacturer Premier Energies Limited is a joint venture agreement concluded with Taiwan’s Sino-American Silicon Products Inc (Sas) For a 2 GW factory for solar wafers.

According to a statement from the companies, the factory, which is built in Indiawill cut polysilicon ingrots into silicon waffles for use in the production of photovoltaic cells and modules.

Premier Energies has a 74% interest in the agreement, whereby SAS approves the other 26%.

Chiranjeev Saluja, Premier Energies Managing Director, said that the agreement marks the start of the backward integration of the company in solar waffles. “The joint venture will play a crucial role in strengthening the make-in-India policy initiative of the Indian government,” Saluja added.

Premier Energies claims to have a current production capacity of 11.1 GW, including 5.8 GW under construction. In November it announced a flat Set an aluminum frame factory and earlier this year, have been suspended of his plans To build a factory in the US.

SAS says her subsidiary, Globalwafers Co. Ltd., the world’s third largest manufacturer is from semiconductor silicon waffles, with expertise in research, the development and production of silicon waffles.
