RAP Renewables, a supplier of industrial components and renewable energy solutions based in the north of England, has been awarded a contract to install a solar power plant on the roof of a warehouse owned by Cleveland McIver.

RAP will install an 800 kW string array solar solution consisting of 1,455 panels spread over 14,450 square meters. The company said it was selected for its competitive nature and offering a full range of services, from an initial electrical and structural survey to final certification and ongoing maintenance.

Paul Adams, operations and logistics director at Cleland McIver, commented: “RAP’s bespoke approach and commitment to long-term value made them the right choice for this installation following a competitive selection process – and I very much look forward to working together to work with the RAP team.”

The five-week installation will be fully managed by RAP Renewables, who will oversee electrical procurement, material supply, technology specification and testing of the scaffolding setup to ensure optimal performance.

Cleveland McIver will be able to use RAP’s live monitoring platform for real-time monitoring of the system’s output and efficiency.

“This 800 kW project represents a significant milestone for RAP Renewables and demonstrates our ability to deliver substantial sustainable solutions for major industrial customers,” said Lee Storey, head of sustainable energy at RAP.

Kingspan has partnered with Solen Energy for an integrated solar energy solution

Kingspan Insulated Panels, which provides building envelope solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors, has entered into a partnership with solar energy wholesaler Solen Energy.

Kingspan has recently expanded its portfolio to include a solar range as part of its building envelope offering, including composite panel roofing with an integrated solar PV system. The partnership with Solen is an important step in Kingspan’s long-term strategy to deliver leading, tested renewable energy sources.
