Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) and Solar PV Developer Renewable Connections have received a building permit for a 52 MW Bess development in Oxfordshire.

The Yarnton Bess is on 1.5 hectares of land in eastern Yarnton, Oxfordshire, after he received the planning committee of the Cherwell District Council in March of this year; The Council issued its decision on 13 June after ecological studies were fully completed. The project will use the battery technology from Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and the site has been approved for an operational period of 40 years, after which the site will be returned to its original state.

Now that the building permit has been granted, Renewable Connections states that the construction of the project is likely to start in the summer of next year, although the developer has not given an estimate for when it expects the construction to be completed when the Bess is connected to the local grid.

Michael Hughes, CEO of Renewable Connections said that the company welcomes the decision of Cherwell District Council to approve the development of Yarnton Bess, and adds: “This project will help to tackle the climate emergency in Oxfordshire in Oxfordshire to use the Oxfordshire Free to use the Oxfordshire in Oxfordshire in Oxfordshire op het rooster op het rooster wordt opslaan en de piekvraag kunnen ontmoeten, een meer stabiel en betrouwbaar energieverwerking en het ondersteunen van een netto -zoto -toekomst opslaan of vrijgeven aan het rooster en het voldoen aan het rooster en het voldoen aan de piekvraag, het helpen van een piekvraag, de piekvraag te ondersteunen, de piekvraag te ondersteunen, een meer stabiel en betrouwbaar energie -netwerk te ondersteunen, en te ondersteunen bij een Netto -Zero -Tuise. “

This is the 27one Project that Renewable Connections has protected the planning allocation, in both solar PV and in battery storage, since 2021. Most recently, earlier this month, the developer received a building permit for the Carr House Farm and Bess, for which the beginning of 2024 submitted a request in the beginning of 2024.

Earlier this year, the company crossed an important milestone in its expansion in the United Kingdom, when the approval for a 90 MW Bess in Somerset, Zuidwest -Engand, brought the permission of the company in the United Kingdom to the UK.

The UK Solar Summit 2025 Will take place in London on 1-2 July. To view the full agenda, see here. The event will provide insight into the latest market factors, government policy developments, investment trends and technological innovations that shape the future of the British solar energy.
