RomaniaThe Ministry of Energy has launched its second financing call to support new installations for renewable energy for self -consumption.
The financing package of € 310 million ($ 351 million), funded by the modernization fund, comprises € 151 million for solar installations under 5 MW and € 117 million for solar installations of more than 5 MW. The call also supports wind energy and hydropower installations.
The investment option takes the form of a competitive bidding procedure and is being tackled at companies and entrepreneurs that develop projects aimed at reducing CO2 emissions. Up to € 20 million is available in the form of the reimbursement of eligible costs per applicant per investment project.
The entry period of the project was opened yesterday and is open until August 22.
The Romania’s Energy Minister, Sebastian Burduja, said that the call for investments “is an essential measure for reducing energy costs and increasing economic competitiveness.”
“We are talking about a real opportunity for Romanian companies – regardless of their size – to produce their own electricity, reduce costs and actively contribute to achieving climate objectives,” Burnuja added.
