S-5!, specialist in solar mountings for metal roofs, has introduced its new MLPE Mount product.

The company describes the MLPE Mount as a universal, cost-effective method for mounting module-level power electronics (MLPE) directly to solar panel frames. The MLPE mounting is designed to mount optimizers and microinverters along the bottom of the module frame in desired locations. According to S-5! This simplifies wire management and electrically connects the equipment together to meet grounding requirements.

The MLPE mounting can be used with most solar panels and with all solar mountings from S-5!, including in rail-mounted installations or in combination with the PVKIT railless solar mounting solution for direct mounting to metal roofs, S-5! reports. A tab reduces the chance of the holder rotating during installation, allowing you to use one hand to place the MLPE device on the frame while the other hand tightens the bolt to secure it.

“We were looking for a simple and cost-effective way to quickly attach optimizers and microinverters to PV frames for railless solar installations,” says Ricardo Barroso, director of research and development at S-5! “With its unique teeth and lip design, S-5’s MLPE Mount secures! MLPE devices attach easily to module frames without rotation; then penetrates the anodizing layers and embeds into the frame for superior grip, electrical connection and grounding (grounding).

The MLPE Mount, which is UL2703 certified, is designed for solar developers, EPCs, installers and end users looking for an MLPE mounting device for solar panel frames, without mounting to rails.

S-5! will be present this week at Intersolar in stand 3027.
