SMA America has announced that in 2026 it will compile its solutions for Medium Tension Possibilities (MVPS) in the United States, in an attempt to strengthen the logistics network of the company and to improve the service of solar customers throughout the country. The inverter is still manufactured in Germany and then sent to the US, where it is integrated with the transformer and skid to make the final system before it is sent to the customer.

The MVPS is a fully integrated, turnkey solution that combines SMA central inverters, medium-volttage transformers and shift gear in a 20-foot-skidded container. Designed for large-scale solar and storage projects, it ensures efficient, grid-compliant energy conversion with minimal installation efforts on location.

“This is a crucial step forward for SMA America and for our customers,” said Jay Arghestani, director of large -scale sales, technology and marketing for SMA America. “Domestic integration helps to shorten project time lines, reduce the shipping complexity and can contribute to domestic content strategies under the Inflation Reduction Act, depending on how customers structure their solutions.”

SMA is planning to assemble the MVPs in the US in the first quarter of 2026, with broader availability of phased for customers in Q2 2026. The share of the local content will be increased step by step during the rise of local capacity.
