The urge for alternative battery chemistry with high density continues with sodium ion solutions, which get a grip in production and production. Recent announcements by Hithium for a sodium-ion product For energy storage, emphasize that despite challenges on energy density, material diversification and abundant sources create new opportunities.

Now a new study shows that in Princeton the Dinc Act has developed a Nodium-Natrium ion cathode that shows promise to possibly surpass many lithium-iones counterparts.

Their cathode material, bis-tetaminobenzoquinon (TAQ), is an organic layered solid that makes high energy and power densities possible on a scale that is suitable for commercialization. This material has also been tested for solutions for lithium ions.
