Sugar Hollow Solar is partnering with the North Carolina Clean Energy Fund (NCCEF) to launch a solar loan program. This partnership aims to make solar energy accessible and affordable to more North Carolina residents by offering financing solutions at below-market rates and without dealer fees.

The North Carolina Clean Energy Fund operates under the Green Bank model, which has been successfully developed in other states, with the mission to accelerate investments in clean energy solutions and increase climate resilience in North Carolina, which will primarily benefit to disadvantaged population groups. This collaboration between Sugar Hollow Solar and NCCEF marks the launch of a new solar loan program designed to help homeowners and landlords overcome the financial barriers to solar adoption.

“We are excited to launch our solar loan program with our first partner, Sugar Hollow Solar,” said Michelle Myers, program manager at NCCEF. “Our financing has no dealer fees, transparent terms and is available to people with the ability to make the monthly payments regardless of credit score, allowing more people to take advantage of incentives like the federal tax credit and Duke’s PowerPair program.”

Sugar Hollow Solar is the first vetted solar installation partner for the NCCEF solar loan program.

“We are pleased to partner with the North Carolina Clean Energy Fund,” said Clary Franko, COO of Sugar Hollow Solar. “This program will make solar energy accessible to many who previously thought it was out of reach due to the high upfront costs. Now our customers can lock in fixed monthly payments, stabilize their household expenses against rising energy rates, make a smart financial investment and do good for the environment.”

The new solar loan program offers flexible terms and the ability to repay loans more than once, allowing customers to take advantage of discounts such as the Duke PowerPair program worth up to $9,000 and tax benefits such as the ITC to further reduce their payments. NCCEF financing can be used for rooftop or ground-mounted residential solar projects, battery backup systems and EV chargers.
