Swiss Startup Solarstream has launched project management software for both traditional PV installers and electricians who serve the solar market. The software is intended to improve productivity and accuracy and is suitable for large commercial, industrial and residential projects.

Starting up the company at the beginning of 2024 was activated by the understanding of the founders that the adoption of solar energy was delayed by the administrative efforts needed for each project.

Solarstream is aimed at the Small-Medium format (SME) segment that includes Pure-Play solar installation companies, but also electricians that operate the solar market, according to Solarstream CEO and co-founder of Manuel Ganter.

“There are many different PDF templates and other documents, which are often completed manually, poor integrations and a scattered software landscape – we wanted to change this,” ” Told Ganter PV Magazine.

Each function developed during the product concept phase was repeated with installation companies. “We have ensured that we are on target from the start, which was crucial for us, especially because we are financed ourselves,” said Ganter, and noted that there is a potential user base of several hundred solar installers in Switzerland.

The software automates document and file management and takes into account local Swiss requirements, such as regulatory compliance tasks and support for the national languages of the country. ‘In addition to various integrations for many existing software players to automate data exchange, we use AI to make installation companies more efficient, ”said Ganter.

“Our task manager continuously monitors the progress of the project and makes suggestions for status updates to ensure that everything is up-to-date, which is crucial to detect possible bottlenecks or problems as early as possible,” he added.

There are integrations with Customer relationship (CRM) and Enterprise Resource (ERP) software packages used by SWISS MKB companies, such as Bexio software and automated data exchange functions. There is an integration with the Swiss Pronovo platform and the Digital Platform Electrical Platform for Administrative Forms required by the cantons, municipalities, raster operators and other digital sources. The focus on integrating existing systems is intended to reduce manual input errors and save time, according to the company.

“We gebruiken verder AI om de vereiste documenten autonoom te classificeren en op te slaan, zodat installateurs alle informatie op één plek hebben. Dat bespaart veel tijd en helpt in de toekomst als het gaat om servicebeheer,” legde Ganter uit, eraan toevoegend dat de AI waarnaar wordt verwezen grote taalmodellen (LLMS) zijn om toegang te krijgen tot de inhoud en context van documenten, het inschakelen van efficiënte hantering van de Documents.

The package has built -in messages to stay in touch with customers and project partners. “Another position that our customers are enthusiastic about is the automated customer communication for the project process. Just like when receiving a parcel delivery, the End-Customer e-mail updates about the current project progress, plus a page with personal status, which summarizes all relevant information,” Ganter said. Status reports and custom overviews are also supported.
