The European solar manufacturer SoliTek enters the British market

European solar panel manufacturer SoliTek has signed a distribution partnership with Wind and Sun, bringing its products to the UK market.

SoliTek’s European-made glass-to-glass TOPCon solar panels will be available through the distributor to installers across the UK. The Lithuania-based company has done just that two production plants in his home country.

The focus is on glass-to-glass modules built for “demanding weather conditions,” the company says, because it uses thicker glass than standard.

The modules are offered with a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, which guarantees at least 90% rated output power after 30 years.

Steve Wade, managing director of Wind and Sun, said: “UK installers and end customers are looking for products that can perform reliably for decades, not just the first few years.”

The partnership with Wind and Sun marks SoliTek’s first formal entry into the UK distribution market, at a time when rooftop installations are taking off. In March, Britain reached more than 2 million solar PV installationsand in 2025 there were 269,000 new solar installations, of which 255,000 were on rooftops.

A supportive policy environment in Britain, with 0% VAT on domestic solar installations, Smart Export Guarantee payments and the wider government mission to spark a solar roof revolution, makes it an attractive market for suppliers.

There may also be a longer lifespan on the roofs, because even as Westminster has lost its consensus on the need for net zero and investors and developers feel uneasy about the long-term prospects of large-scale deployment of solar power stations, UK consumer interest in renewables remains high overall.

One of the arguments against large-scale development of solar energy heard in the consultation is that solar energy should first and foremost be used on roofs.

Furthermore, there was one increase in consumer interest in domestic renewable technologies in response to rising energy bills due to the conflict in the Middle East, and the cost savings offered by solar energy will remain attractive regardless of which party is in power.
