The largest battery storage project in Ukraine discusses the commissioning phase – PV Magazine International

Ukraine’s 200 MW/400 MWh battery project dwarf the most Eastern European installations and is expected to come online in October 2025 before the winter.

DTEK and Fluence have started setting the largest battery energy storage system in Ukraine, an installation of 200 MW/400 MWh spread over six locations that represents one of the largest storage implementations in Eastern Europe.

The project, with a value of € 140 million, consists of 698 Fluence Gridstack -Cubuses that are divided over locations with individual capacities ranging from 20 MW to 50 MW. The system is designed to offer 400 MWh of storage capacity, which is sufficient to the State of the State to provide 600,000 Ukrainian houses with electricity for two hours. Bulgaria has one Operational 124 MW / 496.2 MWH Battery Energy Storage SystemBeating the upcoming Ukrainian installation on energy duration but falls short of the ability.
