S-5!a supplier of solar and metal roof mountings, has developed a clamp for solar carport applications. The S-5-CP Clamp (CP for Carport) is designed to fit both “C” and “Z” purlin frame assemblies, using a non-penetrating attachment for solar applications. The design protects against corrosion by eliminating the need for drilled holes.

“Carport solar is one of the fastest growing segments in mounting technology,” says Rob Haddock, S-5! CEO and founder. “The S-5-CP clamp allows engineers and installers to design stronger, simpler and more cost-effective solar carport systems using trusted S-5! technology.”

The clamp can be combined with S-5’s PVKIT solar mounting solution! for rail-less installation of solar panels, reducing the number of installation parts. A bottom-facing adjustment screw allows installation to be accomplished from underneath the canopy using the bottom-facing adjustment screw, which provides access for wiring and maintenance and allows for on-the-fly adjustments.

In combination with an EPDM gasket installed between the modules, the S-5! carport system reduces the risk of leaks. Using the S-5-CP clamp, engineers and contractors can select their preferred purlins and spacings.

“From roofs to carports, our team continues to innovate and adapt our mounting technologies to meet the demands of solar applications,” said Haddock. “The S-5-CP clamp transforms underutilized space into a valuable clean energy source, an ideal solution for contractors and developers looking for reliable, waterproof solar integration into canopy-style structures.”
