Weidmuller to make PV combination boxes at New Virginia Production Facility

Weidmuller USA Recently organized the large opening of the new 24,000 ft of the company2 Engineering and production facility in Richmond, Virginia. Various connectivity and automation products and solutions are made on the site, including solar combines with string surveillance.

“The expansion of Richmond’s head office marks the start of an exciting and long-planned transition to dealing with more complex assembly and final local production of electro-industry technologies and solutions here in Richmond, Virginia,” said Randy Sadler, President and CEO of Weidmuller Usa. “To date, we have invested $ 10 million to set up the engineering and production facility, but continuous investments in more machines, training and production will fulfill our dedication to engineer and production closer to American customers. Our talented team in Richmond is fully committed to grow our customer base and to increase our American footprint.”

The Weidmüller Group, founded in 1850 in Germany, celebrates its 175th birthday.

“Innovative electrical connectivity and software -driven automation continue to transform industrial production, including industry into clean energy,” Dr. Sebastian Durst, CEO of Weidmüller Global. “Weidmuller USA is well positioned to be a leading supplier of IIOT solutions for a wide range of industries in the US and North America.”

The new facility is designed to reduce the CO2 footprint of the company by functions such as solar panels, HVAC and recycled materials with a high efficiency. A native habitatt garden accentuates the natural landscape next to the building and creates a relaxing and sustainable space for employees to enjoy breaks.
