Where Energies, a solar manufacturer based in India, is planning to expand its production capacity in the United States.

The first American production of the company was announced in 2024 When it said it invested $ 1 billion in a solar cells and modules in Brookshire, Texas, just outside Houston. Where said that the new expansion will add a capacity of 1.6 GW, so that the output of the Texas facility is doubled.

This expansion comes at a critical moment for the American solar industry with a lot of uncertainty about supply chains and pressure to increase domestic output. Since the passage of the Inflation reduction law in 2022, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) has reported that 84 new facilities for solar energy and storage have been online and 55 facilities have been under active construction. To date, there has been an increased capacity in the solar supply chain, but according to SEIA is in the production of modules. The production of modules has grown from 8 GW prior to the federal production tax credits to 52.3 GW from March 2025, an increase of more than 600%.

Prior to setting up production facilities in Texas, what already contributed to the American supply chain, after he had delivered more than 4 GW of modules of his Indian facility to American customers.

“By doubleing our module capacity to double 3.2 GW in Texas, we confirm a conviction that goes beyond the business world about trust, resilience and shared ambition,” said Amit Paitankar, where Energies Limited all the time. ‘This expansion is a signal – we are here, we are growing, and we have been deeply invested in feeding America’s energy seeking, “said Paitankar.
