A European-based solar roof pioneer has completed its first project in the United States. Roofit.Solar energyheadquartered in Estonia, completed a 12.32 kW solar installation on the roof of a private home in Kalamazoo, Michigan, as the company consolidates its expansion in the North American market.

The cleantech company has signed an official partnership agreement with a US-based solar energy installer ArcEdgewhich is leading the project in Michigan.

“The transition to renewable energy solutions for residential and commercial properties is not just a market trend, but an essential part of achieving national energy independence, increasing energy security and advancing a resilient, sustainable future,” said Greg Grace, Chief Growth Officer of Roofit.Solar. “We are seeing overwhelming commitment from U.S. property owners who want to integrate clean, distributed energy without sacrificing architectural integrity. Expanding our presence in the U.S. is a commitment to supporting these stakeholders in their journey to self-sufficiency and a net-zero future.”

Roofit.Solar specializes in building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solar roofing, a 2-in-1 product with a discreet, minimalist and sleek appearance. The aesthetic-oriented design makes the solar roofs ideal for historic buildings, architecturally sensitive neighborhoods and design-conscious homeowners.

Expansion in the US includes UL certification

After completing more than 3,000 installations in 30 countries, primarily in Europe, Roofit.Solar has now brought its solution to the United States after achieving UL certification for its Velario module. During the rigorous UL testing process, the product was assessed on aspects such as fire resistance, electrical safety and weather resistance, all of which the Velario met.

The Velario uses classic standing seam metal roofing panels and built-in high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cells, achieving a sleek and elegant appearance while producing clean energy for the building to use.

Roofit.Solar’s first installation project in the United States saw 12.32 kWp of solar energy installed in a private home in Kalamazoo, Michigan in late 2025 in the form of Velario solar roofing. The location is newly built and uses solar PV to power energy consumption.

“Before partnering with Roofit.Solar, we identified a gap in the U.S. solar market for integrated solutions that look stylish enough to fit even the highest-end of our projects,” said Russ Newton, president of ArcEdge.
