The 42nd European photovoltaic solar energy conference and exhibition (EU PVSEC) is gaining strength, with the full conference program that is now available online, giving those present a first look at the groundbreaking sessions, inspiring keynotes and discussions at a high level that will take place in Bilbao of 22-26 September.

With nearly 1,000 presentations alone in the scientific section, this year’s conference will continue to emphasize research and innovation in the entire PV chain, structured around five core subjects. ‘Previous in silicon materials and cells will remain central, such as the current (and still for a few years) market development technology, driven by efforts to reduce efficiency limits and reduce production costs. ‘Thin films and new concepts will emphasize new materials such as perovskites and tandem structures that manage the next generation of solar technologies, with’ developments in photovoltaic modules that focus on sustainability, performance and advanced production techniques.

In the domain of ‘photovoltaic systems’, optimization of performance, digitization, innovative applications such as Agri-PV or BIPV and reliability under Real-World circumstances will be crucial. Finally, the role of ‘photovoltaïschens in the energy transition will be central, in which PV’s integration in energy systems is emphasized, its contribution to low carbon and their mutual impact on policy, economy, citizens and sustainability.

Participants are given the opportunity to explore an extensive exhibition with multiple country pavilions, so that strong international cooperation stimulates photovoltaic innovation. Organizations interested in participating in the exhibition are encouraged to inquire about availability to become a member of this lively international platform.

Registration for EU PVSEC 2025 is now open, whereby participants register before 30 June to take advantage of the rates for early birds. This is the perfect opportunity for researchers, engineers, industrial representatives and policy makers to be part of the community, to share knowledge and make contact with international PV experts.

Prior to the main conference, the PV Academy will return with a fresh online presence and exciting updates. For the first time, lectures from previous editions are now available for free, and offer valuable insights to the global PV community.

Registration is also open to the PV Academy 2025, which takes place on Sunday 21 September Bilbao. The one-day event is tailor-made for students, early career researchers and professionals who want to deepen their understanding of photovoltaic Fundamentals and current trends. The program includes three lectures by renowned experts and opportunities for networks and fascinating discussion.
