Cyprus has taken a step in the direction of modernizing his energy infrastructure with the commissioning of a 3.3 MWH Bess as part of the Apollon PV Park. Secret by the University of Cyprus, this is the largest battery project in the country so far and the first of its kind on this scale.

The Bess is integrated with a 5 MWP solar installation that was taken into use about six months ago. Together, the solar and storage components are designed to support the stability of the schedule, reduce the restriction and to help manage peak demand.

Images of the site show a containerized storage solution using modular lithium-ion battery racks. The configuration and visible branding that is seen on the basis of photos on social media suggest that Sungrow has supplied the Bess system.
