Norwich Technologies, the parent company of subsidiaries Norwich Solar (EPC), RunTime Solar (O&M) and NorwichEV, is pleased to announce a further diversification of its business for strategic growth and greater impact in the renewable energy sector, by providing service under the new Breakaway Renewables company brand. Historically, the company focused on vertical integration and, as an EPC contractor, worked primarily on projects it developed in-house. This new division strengthens the company’s capabilities to develop sustainable projects for the portfolios of other companies.

Since Norwich Technologies was founded in 2011, it has successfully developed and installed more than one hundred solar projects in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. By establishing separate development/financing and EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) divisions, Breakaway Renewables and Norwich Solar, respectively, are expanding and strengthening their offerings of proven development/financing and EPC processes throughout New England and beyond . More options will become available from the expertise of both divisions. Breakaway Renewables in particular will increase acquisition and evaluation, permitting, design and financing opportunities for its business partners.

As part of the Norwich Technologies family, Breakaway Renewables remains committed to the company’s values. Norwich Technologies is committed to rapidly advancing the integration and deployment of affordable clean energy and technology solutions to help businesses and organizations improve their Triple Bottom Line (financial, social and environmental) while moving communities towards a fossil-free energy future. Norwich Technologies became a Certified B-Corp in 2023 and all divisions share the ethos of a stakeholder-first approach, using the company as a force for positive impact on the environment, climate change and people, whilst maximizing delivers value.

“Our roots as an integrated developer/finance/EPC organization have allowed us to anticipate and mitigate potential challenges,” said Martha Staskus, Chief Development Officer. “We have developed our own successful process to bring projects to a successful conclusion. Combined with strong relationships with our stakeholders, we have developed high-quality renewable energy generation projects.”
