Allegro Energy has introduced the first in Australia’s own country in the domestic microemulsieflow battery (MEFB) for LDES.

The non-escape, scalable and cost-effective battery technology will debut in the erelter of the Erzeling of Origin Energy, which emphasizes the role of LDEs in Australia’s clean energy transfer.

The CEO of Allegro Energy Thomas Nann said that the chemistry of the battery marks an important progress to support the global transition from clean energy. Australia can use advanced production to distinguish itself and to develop possibilities that others miss, Nann said.

Allegro Energy Chief Technology Officer Fraser Hughson said that the battery will also benefit the economy in Newcastle, Australia, because most components come locally. Producing the battery in your own country is not only a strategic choice, but an economically feasible, said Hughson.

Origin Energy, which owns a 5% share interest in Allegro Energy, said on LinkedIn that battery storage – including LDEs – will be crucial for the energy transition of Australia.

Because of her collaboration with Allegro Energy, it is planning to manage the technology at Eraring before he is considering a broader deployment, the company explained.

The importance of Origin supports the staged development of the 60 MWH Pilot Redox Flow Battery (RFB) of Allegro Energy and gives origin the option to support the first Gigafactory from Allegro Energy.
