Aspen Power announced it has completed six solar projects totaling 25.5 MWDC of generation capacity in Pennsylvania. These projects represent the first half of a portfolio that Aspen Power acquired from Sunrise Energy, from which the projects emerged.

Aspen Power co-developed the projects in collaboration with Sunrise Energy. Aspen Power’s entire portfolio of completed or contracted solar projects in Pennsylvania totals more than 145 MW.

Pennsylvania has set a goal of getting 18% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2025. These commercial net metering solar projects will help achieve that goal while enabling residents, businesses and other organizations to participate in the renewable energy future.

The six sites will provide approximately 480 jobs for the state through the development, construction and maintenance of the solar systems. The projects also use American-made components.

“We are proud to advance decarbonization with the team at Sunrise, who have been committed partners in bringing these projects to fruition,” said Dan Gulick, senior VP of community solar, Aspen Power. “Being able to execute projects in the Keystone State is a key element in supporting a sustainable future for all and achieving our goal of gigawatt scale in the coming years.”
