Developer-operator Aura Power has secured project financing for its 49.9 MWp Horton Solar Farm in East Devon.

The financing for the project is Aura Power’s fifth financing for solar power plants in the past 14 months, bringing its construction portfolio to 298p, with 196MWp already under construction.

Rabobank provided senior debt financing, while junior financing was provided by Invested. To date, Rabobank has partnered with Aura Power for all its solar construction projects in the United Kingdom.

The Horton Solar Farm received a building permit in June 2023 and construction will start in May 2026. The partner for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) is ib vogt.

The funding for Horton comes after Aura Power recently reached the same milestone for four other projects, all covered by Solar energy portal.

These are:

Construction of Kemble started in March 2025, followed closely by Grimsby and Burtree Lane, with Rayleigh expected to start in January 2026.

Aura said all its developments have a strong emphasis on improving the environment. Horton includes new wildlife habitats, extensive tree and hedge planting and areas of wildflower meadows. It will also have a community benefit fund, which is relatively common but still voluntary The government is considering making them legally mandatory for energy projects.
