The government of New South Wales (NSW), Australia, gives access to the grid access to 10 sites for renewable energy and energy storage in the new Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (Rez), while Utility AGL has acquired Hydro Energy Storage (Phes) projects.

With Australian Nut AGL who acquires two Phes locations at an early stage in the Hunter region and the NSW government that just grants access to multiple projects in the Central West Orana Rez, the state will receive a considerable new storage capacity.

The NSW government has granted 10 projects for renewable energy consumption with a combined 7.15 GW of access rights for energy generation and storage capacity to connect to network infrastructure In what the first Rez of the State will be.

The Central-West Orana Rez, centered around the regional city of Dubbo, is the first of five planned by the NSW government as part of its strategy to replace the outdated coal-fired generators of the state.

The zone of 20,000 m² is expected To deliver at least 4.5 GW new network capacityAs a result, 7.7 GW solar, wind and battery facilities can be connected to the grid.
