The Simpliphi 6.6 Stackable batteries from Briggs & Stratton can now be seen on OpenSolar’s Solar Design, Sales and Project Management Software that is free for solar professionals.

“With our new Simplephi 6.6 storage system on OpenSolar, we can connect to more than 25,000 professionals in the field of solar electrification that actively design and quote solutions for energy storage,” said Sequoya Cross, VP of energy storage for Briggs & Stratton Energy Solutions. “OpenSolar offers installers best practices for integrating solar and energy storage into a coherent proposal. Plus, it answers a common demand for homeowner by accurately modeling the future return of a system.”

Introduced last year, the Briggs & Stratton Simpliphi 6.6 batteries have a number of progress that make the installation easier. They have rapid-stak connectors that integrate electricity and communication into a single point without threads or dip switches. The batteries easily stack together and click in place, making the installation easier and more efficient. The mounting of a stack of three can be done within five minutes or less.

They have assessed an IP65 so that they can be installed inside or outside without extra cupboards. They can be ground or wall mounted in a garage, shed, utility box or basement or outside on an outside wall. Moreover, the flexibility of using one, two or three batteries per stack means that the system can fit into compact spaces.

In addition, the Simpliphi 6.6 has a complete integration of closed loop for advanced communication and broad non-communicating compatibility with every 48V lithium-supporting inverter.

The Simpliphi 6.6 battery is UL 1642, UL 1973, UN 3480 and UN DOT 38.3 certified and has completed UL 9540A fire safety tests. In 2024 it obtained its UL 9540 Edition 3 certification as a stand-alone DC ESS and recently carried out the earthquake vibration test (GR-63-CORE, edition 5. Section 4.4.1) carried out by Element US Space & Defense.

The Simpliphi 6.6 battery has a limited 10-year warranty and will be guaranteed to retain 75% capacity after 10 years.
