American solar panel manufacturer First SolaR has filed a patent store in the US District Court for the Delaware district against Chinese competitor Jinkosolar. The lawsuit is related to US Patent No. 9,130.074, the first Solar said he includes a non -specific top -cone production technology.

“First Solar obtained the American top -conce tests and related international counterparts by the acquisition of Tetrasun, Inc. 2013,” said First Solar in a statement. “The patents include spent patents in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam with validities until 2030. The portfolio also includes awaiting patent applications in the European Union, Japan, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. “

In November 2024, first solar energy sent letters By his lawyers on a number of large solar manufacturers, warning that it believed that his patents will be violated. The letters went to producers Longi, Trina Solar, Jinko Solar, Ja Solar and Canadian Solar to the solar panel.

Various leading manufacturers actively claim patent -related claims against each other, in particular with regard to Topcon Solar cell technology.

The warning letter from First Solar claimed to its competitors that the companies mentioned have used the mentioning of the First Solar Topconoctries without a license.
