Egg Power, Liberty Global’s clean energy infrastructure investor, has acquired the project rights for PS Renewables’ 49.9 MW Grange solar power plant in Suffolk.

The solar acquisition is Egg Power’s third in Britain and will add to a portfolio of clean energy generation that telecoms company Liberty Global – which owns brands such as Virgin Media – will use in its operating portfolio in Britain.

Ilesh Patel, leader of Egg Power at Liberty Global, explained that the investor develops, builds, owns and operates energy projects and services to its customers through corporate power purchase agreements (cPPAs).

Construction of the solar power plant will begin in January 2026 and become operational in early 2027, Liberty Global said.

Egg Power is part of the egg Group, which also includes egg Solutions, a provider of commercial and residential clean energy solutions, and EV charging point company Believ.

The other projects that Egg Power has acquired this year are the 13MW Rainsbrook solar PV power plant from Voltaliacommissioned in July 2025, and Baywa’s 49.9 MW Rag Lane solar power plant, to be acquired early this year. The latter project, located near Bristol, was Egg Power’s first acquisition and will come online in spring 2026.

As 2025 draws to a close, we’ve seen a notable uptick in mergers and acquisitions, something that Solar Media Market Research analyst Josh Cornes attributed in part to the The reform of the grid connection queue was only completed this month.
