Manufacturer of solar structures GameChange solar energy introduces TopoSmart+, a project analysis tool designed to minimize topography costs for installations of the company’s single-axis solar tracker on challenging, uneven terrain.

TopoSmart+ performs multiple design iterations at a solar project site to determine lower-cost grading and steel pole options, optimize tracker height, and generate grading plans. This tool’s 3D modeling supports both the straight pipe and terrain-following configurations of GameChange’s Genius Tracker to ensure the tracker design is tailored to the specific conditions of a location.

For owners interested in terrain tracking systems, GameChange offers solar trackers for both moderate terrain tracking and extreme terrain tracking, allowing for a slope difference of up to 1° between each span from post to post. TopoSmart+ can also design for relatively small changes in row tube slope to increase the output power of a tracker system.

“Our goal with TopoSmart+ is to provide a powerful yet streamlined solution that reduces topography costs while supporting project bankability,” said Anthony Assal, director of technical development at GameChange. “By optimizing both grading and steel needs for specific terrain, we offer developers a highly efficient and cost-effective approach for even the toughest sites.”
