German residential builder places some LG -home batteries in the standby mode after explosion -PV Magazine International

Construction company Viebrockhaus made the move after an incident in Schönberg, where a house with a solar-plus storage system suffered an explosion that destroyed a wall of the house. The builder and battery maker LG have placed some units in standby mode and others have reduced their business capacities.

German construction company Viebrockhaus has told PV -Magazine An LG battery from 2019 edition was installed in the Schönberg house where a Explosion took place last weekFully destroying a wall of the building.

The builder, which installs solar energy-plus storage systems, confirmed as standard, confirmed that the house was being built in 2020 and the battery was maintained professionally and regularly.

A spokeswoman for Viebrockhaus said that the company used high and low voltage LG batteries from 2017 to 2024, but now also used products from other, non-specific suppliers.
