Launch of AI-driven solar diagnostics platform increases PV Asset Performance

The Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) has launched a commercial spin-off called the “PV Doctor”, so that an important jump forward is marked in managing and optimizing solar photo-toaic system performance (PV). Officially unveiled on 2 April 2025, the platform of 15 years of R and D uses the behavior of PV systems in various climates and is intended to restore and maintain peak production for solar installations worldwide.

The PV doctor combines AI-based analyzes with routine monitoring and benchmark comparisons to ensure that solar assets work maximum efficiency. In addition to diagnostics, the service offers corrective action plans and hands-on rectification, so that system owners restore lost energy output and maximize the efficiency of the investment.

“Our mission is to ensure that every PV system performs on its peak potential under our care,” the founders said. “By integrating deep expertise with real -time diagnostics, we can prevent losses before they escalate.”

Many PV systems are sold under the misleading starting point of maintenance-free, despite the reality that even a small supervision can lead to significant inefficiencies. To prevent global losing under -performance systems are estimated annually at $ 10 billion. PV Doctor focuses on this gap by offering the analysis of the Root cause and active management for both healthy and distracting systems. The smart O&M algorithm follows the performance in real time and detects anomalies before breaking down the output.

Initially tested by Seris in Asia, the Smart O&M Services quickly proved their value. In just under a year, PV Doctor Systems reached more than 200 MWp assets under managed assets, with 400 locations in 10 countries. In Singapore, more than 3% of all PV installations are already managed by the platform.

The possibilities of PV Doctor are structured around six core services:

1. Smart O&M-DIT fundamental offer offers real-time performance monitoring, automatic problem detection and root cause analysis. The system integrates seamlessly with in size portals, using a combination of sensor inputs, satellite data and machine learning to locate losses due to pollution, shadow, grid disturbances and errors of components.

2. Preventive O&M – For owners who are looking for a passive role, this service provides planned maintenance, inspections and early fall -out solution, so that systems remain operational without involvement of the owner.

3. Rectification and special investigations PV doctor tackles complex problems, such as potentially induced demolition or mechanical defects, especially usual in low tilt systems near the equator. Thorough diagnostics prior to customized interventions to restore the complete performance.

4. Repower – older or outdated systems can be upgraded with the latest high -quality modules and inverters. Repower revitalizes aging assets, increases the output and extends the operational lifespan.

5. Audits and performance assessments – Third -party independent assessments support transactions and compliance needs. PV Doctor uses thermal imaging, satellite derived radiation and electrical tests to deliver objective performance evaluations.

6. Technical support – In addition to system activities, the Platform helps stakeholders in the solar chain with project planning, risk analysis, selection of components and due diligence for acquisitions.

PV-doctor positions himself as an essential partner for solar developers, asset managers, EPC companies and investors and offers scalable solutions from residential systems to large-scale solar farms.
