Rolec EV, a leading UK manufacturer of EV charging points, and The Solar Advisory Service, a solar panel engineering and installation company, have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of green energy solutions in the UK. The partnership will combine Rolec’s expertise in EV charging infrastructure with The Solar Advisory Service’s knowledge of solar energy systems, providing consumers and business customers with a one-stop shop for their renewable energy needs.

This partnership comes at a crucial time for the UK’s renewable energy sector. The government has set ambitious targets for reducing carbon emissions, and both solar energy and electric vehicle adoption are key components to achieving these goals. The fluctuations in energy prices in recent years have also highlighted the need for greater energy independence and a shift to more sustainable energy sources. Combining expertise to provide end-to-end solutions therefore makes more sense now than ever.

In line with these trends, Britain has witnessed significant growth in the solar energy market, with installations reaching record levels in recent years, tripling by 2023 and on track to break records again in 2024. Likewise, demand for EV charging infrastructure has increased. soared as more consumers switched to electric vehicles. However, Research by Believ shows that local authorities in Great Britain are falling behind in their objectives for EV charging points.

By combining their expertise and resources, the two companies can provide a more comprehensive and integrated approach to green energy solutions. This will not only make it easier for customers to adopt renewable technologies, but will also reduce costs through economies of scale.

Furthermore, the partnership is likely to boost innovation in the sector as both companies strive to develop new and improved products and services to meet the evolving needs of their customers. This includes the integration of solar PV systems with EV charging infrastructure, creating a more seamless and efficient energy ecosystem.

“Our partnership with Rolec is a testament to our shared vision for a more sustainable future,” said Jamie Lynch, Chief Operating Officer at The Solar Advisory Service. “Together, we are poised to revolutionize the way people power their homes, businesses and vehicles, paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.

“As we embark on this journey together, we are confident that our partnership with Rolec will enable us to redefine the future of renewable energy and EV charging through collaboration, dedication and a shared commitment.”

James Jarvis, Senior Business Development Manager at Rolec added: “We are absolutely excited about the combined opportunities we have before us.

“I eagerly look forward to working closely with the Solar Advisory Service team to deliver EV charging solutions nationwide.”

The collaboration between Rolec and The Solar Advisory Service is indicative of a growing trend towards partnerships and collaborations in the sustainable energy sector. Just as solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) become increasingly interconnected, solar PV and EV infrastructure is likely to follow suit as the industry matures and recognizes the value of working together to transition to low-carbon energy solutions to speed up.
