Solar panel manufacturer headquartered in the United States SEG solar energy (SEG) has started construction work on its integrated photovoltaic industrial park in Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB), Indonesia, 390 km east of Jakarta.

Located in Grand Batang City, Central Java Province, the SEG Indonesia solar industrial park project will have an investment of more than $500 million and cover more than 40 hectares.

Phase one of the project will see the construction of ten n-type cell production lines, targeting an annual capacity of 5 GW, with expected completion in the second quarter of 2025.

Texas-based SEG plans to collaborate with other suppliers of solar components, including wafers, blocks, junction boxes, frames and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) films, to set up manufacturing facilities in Indonesiapaving the way for extensive business development across the entire solar value chain.
