Germany-based Singulus Solar, a joint venture of Singulus Technologies, a German PV equipment manufacturer, and Yingkou Jinchen Machinery, a Chinese supplier of module manufacturing equipment, has announced that it will provide turnkey cell and module solutions to manufacturers of tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) and heterojunction (HJT) PV products.

Singulus Solar, headquartered in Germany, will supply production equipment, solutions and turnkey lines for individual cells and modules to manufacturers of TOPCon and heterojunction solar PV products. It is a newly established joint venture of Singulus Technologies, a German manufacturer of coating equipment, and Yingkou Jinchen Machinery, a Chinese supplier of module production equipment.

Singulus Solar’s portfolio focuses on the global PV market and includes cell manufacturing equipment from the Singulus Technologies portfolio, such as phase vapor deposition (PVD) sputtering equipment, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) and evaporative coating systems, as well as wet chemical and thermal processing equipment, together with equipment from Jinchen’s solar panel manufacturing portfolio.

Jinchen has an installed base of 500 GW for module and cell production lines.

There will be European and US technical and customer service centres, staffed with teams from both companies. “The joint venture meets international market expectations for high-quality PV equipment that meets the growing demand for sustainable and efficient PV process and equipment solutions,” said Stefan Rinck, CEO of Singulus, in a press release.

The companies have complementary portfolios, said Jinchen chairman Li Yisheng, who pointed out that the two companies’ production footprints will enable Singulus Solar to achieve “fast delivery at favorable cost structures”, adding that “the first projects have already are in progress”.
