The Swedish manufacturer of the Aira heat pump has raised € 150 million ($ 174.7 million) in stock financing from existing investors, since the company strives for growth on the most important European markets.

The funds will be used in an increased production capacity in the Aira factory in Wroclaw, Poland, and in the R&D center of the company in Sweden.

Aira was founded in 2022 by Vargas, a co-founder of the recently Insolvent Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt. Aira heat pumps are available in the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. The company positions itself as a one-stop energy management for consumers, with plans to offer an extensive energy management system (EMS). Aira told PV -Magazine In February 2025 it developed the hardware, software and inverter to offer a complete EMS solution.

The latest stock financing from AIRA was secured by existing investors Altor, Kallskär, Kinnevik, Lingotto and Temasek. It follows a change in senior leadership in May 2025, when Aira Peter Prem appointed as Group CEO, successor to CEO Martin Lerwerth, who led the company of his development phase in 2022.

In a press release, Peter Prem said that the new investment “enables us to double our mission to reduce Europe by expanding with operational excellence, launching new innovations and speeding up our growth to bring clean energy to millions of houses.”
