Renvolt, a subsidiary of French renewable energy developer Voltalia, has signed a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 124.2 MW solar PV project in Ireland.

The Wexford Hub project, which has been signed with ESB, Ireland’s semi-public energy services company, will be located in County Wexford, in the south east of Ireland. Once operational, Renvolt will also carry out the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the PV installation.

Commercial operation of ESB’s Wexford Hub solar project is expected before spring 2027, according to the energy services company.

This also marks the fourth collaboration – both for completed and under-construction projects – between the two companies after ESB awarded Voltalia two EPC contracts in July 2025. The two projects are the Carriglong and the Clashwilliam, with a capacity of 43.7 MW and 49.2 MW respectively.

The company was also selected for a 108 MW ESB and Bord na Móna project in 2023, located in County Kildare, and which started operations in November 2025. In total, the capacity of the company, which is being built by Renvolt for third parties, now exceeds 1 GW.

“This achievement confirms the relevance of our strategy in this dynamic market, where we have already built or commissioned several major projects. We will continue to invest and innovate to help our customers achieve their low-carbon ambitions, while consolidating Renvolt’s position in Europe,” said Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia.

The solar PV industry in Ireland continues to grow as evidenced by the fact that Solar PV generated more electricity in the first seven months of 2025 than in all of 2024. The construction of new projects such as the Wexford Hub will further accelerate the growth of solar PV in the country.
