Enertopia has developed a cooling system for solar module that uses a layer of moisture collection to transfer heat and to record water for irrigation in dry areas. De ontwerpkanalen verwarmen van het paneel naar een vloeistofoverdrachtssysteem, waardoor de efficiëntie en het watergebruik verbetert.

February 12, 2025

said that the US Patent 12224704 has protected from the Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) of the United States for its heat panel heat panel.

A moisture collection layer between the panel and a liquid transfer system enables rapid heat transfer from the photovoltaic panel to the liquid transfer system.

“In some cases, in periods in which, due to the surrounding environmental conditions, moisture will not naturally be formed, the heat distribution system described herein can use a controlled water broadcasting agents to ensure saturation of the moisture collection layer,” the company said.

The company said that solar panels equipped with cooling systems may be exposed to thermal shock when they come into contact with a cool liquid transfer system.

“Our patented process treats this problem by offering an open loop system that helps to prevent or limit the thermal shock, and therefore fail,” the company said. “The open loop system separates the liquid transfer systems that can include a cool liquid from the photovoltaic panel, while it is still quickly encouraged and/or extracting heat from the photovoltaic panel and the heat to the liquid transfer systems.”

Enertopia said that the system can increase the PV current yield to 13.8% annually and a maximum of 19.9% monthly, depending on the season, with results confirmed by the American energy company Thermal Energy System Specialists, LLC.
