China’s Nea The domestic demand remained strong despite weaker exports. The nation added 59.7 GW new PV capacity in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 30.5% compared to a year earlier. For the first time in history, the total installed wind and solar energy capacity reached 1.482 GW, which exceeds the capacity of coal-fired generation, which was 1,451 GW.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce For import and export of machines and electronic products Said China exported PV products worth $ 6.71 billion in the first quarter, a decrease of 30.5% year after year. The export of solar waffles fell by 52.1% to $ 290 million, with shipping volumes by 11.4% to 1.32 billion units. Solar cells export rose by 13.5% to $ 830 million, with volumes by 51.1% to 20.1 GW, indicating a strong overseas interest in intermediates. Module export, the largest segment, fell by 33% to $ 5.59 billion, with shipping volume by 7.4% to 57.9 GW.

GCL technology Said that the Hohhot-based granular silicon facility achieved a record-drawing carbon footprint of 18,050 kg CO₂ equivalent per kilogram, according to certification of the French environment and the energy management agency (breath). The figure significantly undermines the industrial average for monocrystalline silicon and marks the lowest life cycle cabbage footprint that has ever been reported for a grainy silicon production base (excluding silicon with metallurgical quality).

TCL Zhonghuan has reported a floor loss in the financial results of 2024 as the price falls volume growth. The company achieved the turnover of CNY 28.42 billion ($ 3.91 billion), with 52.0% year on year and a net loss that can be attributed to shareholders of CNY 9.82 billion. While the Wafers shipments rose by 10.5% to 125.8 GW, giving the company a global market share of 18.9%, competitive price erosion resulted in a turnover decrease of 51.95%. In the first quarter of 2025 report, TCL Zhonghuan achieved the turnover of CNY 6.10 billion, with 38.6% year on year, with a net loss of CNY of 1.96 billion, a dive of 116.7% from the same period in 2023.

Arctech Solar said it has the wider falling trend of the sector with a strong international turnover in 2024. The company reported the annual turnover of CNY 9.03 billion, an increase of 41.25% year on year, powered by an increase of 127.63% in overseas income to CNY 7.36 billion. The net profit to attribute to shareholders increased by 83.03% to CNY 632 million. The profit per share climbed 81.87% to CNY 3.11, while the return on equity reached 19.72%. The board proposed a cash dividend of CNY 10 per 10 shares. The 2024 R&D expenditure of the company rose by 19.28% to CNY 203 million. The turnover from the coreopracking and fixed mounting systems was respectively on CNY 7.63 billion and CNY 1.08 billion, while the construction-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) company generated CNY 257.5 million.
