EDF will use the Jumptech software platform to deploy and scale its residential solar installation program in Britain.

The platform from Cambridge-based software provider Jumptech, which operates in the UK and US, will centralize research, documentation, planning and installation controls to support EDF’s domestic clean technology offering.

Using the software, EDF’s operations team can manage subcontractors, monitor progress and maintain regulatory compliance for large numbers of installations.

Martin Aylward, head of zero carbon homes at EDF, said the Jumptech platform is the central application in the company’s solar technology.

Jumptech’s platform manages EV charger, solar, battery and heat pump installations and is contracted by other major energy companies, including British Gas and OVO.

The software is also used by Contact Solar, a solar panel and battery installer based in Chorley EDF was acquired at the beginning of 2024. Contact Solar has a network of local installers across the country that EDF uses to build its ‘whole house’ net zero offering.

The British public are increasingly interested in installing renewable technology in their properties as they benefit from the lower energy bills this brings. Figures from the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), which certifies domestic renewable energy installations, show that in In November, the number of certified solar panel installations in 2025 was 203,125 – the previous annual record from 2011.
