Longi announced that it has achieved a upgraded Hi-MO 9-sun panel with return contact “HPBC 2.0” technology 24.8% efficiency with a maximum capacity of 670 W.

By integrating zero bus with half a cell architecture, Longi was able to stimulate the power of the modules by 10 W. The Back contact Hi-MO 9 provides 1.5% more better efficiency than top-con brands.

In addition, Longi has announced that it has achieved 27.81% efficiency for its self-developed heterojunction intercourse connected back contact (HIBC) solar cells, as certified by the German ISFH (Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin).

To further strengthen the market potential of highly efficient BC technology, Longi collaborated with Tüv Rheinland to launch the “Global Optimal Optimal BC Solar Power Plant Design Challenge”. Competition, open to consultancy firms, EPC companies and investors of renewable energy worldwide, invites innovative designs for the land-mounted power plant projects of more than 50 MW in various application scenarios. Submissions are accepted From 11 April to 30 November 2025, Tüv Rheinland will lead an expert panel to rigorously evaluate submissions on the basis of BC technology -Tegration, PVSYST -Simulation results and design innovation. The total price pass is around $ 280,000.

Dennis She, vice-president of Longi, emphasized: “BC technology represents the ultimate progress in crystalline silicon solar cells. With an adult worldwide ecosystem, highly efficient BC modules are quickly implemented over various applications. Partners to build a sustainable future.”
