Moldova launches tender for 75 MW battery storage – SPE

The tender aims to improve the reliability of the Moldovan electricity grid, facilitate energy trade with neighboring Romania and Ukraine and support the integration of locally produced renewable energy.

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova has issued a tender for 75 MW of battery energy storage, describing it as an important step towards strengthening energy security.

The tender is being launched by USAID through the Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy. This first phase of the tender includes the purchase of a 30 MW energy storage system, the ministry said in a Jan. 16 announcement.
